We would love to have you if you are recruiting for internships, full-time jobs, or grad programs that will launch students into successful lives and careers. Register on Handshake or reach out to us at the email address included in this post.

SVU is a small, private, faith-based liberal arts college in rural Virginia focused on supporting students who are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or share their values. These students bring a unique work ethic and level of foundational skills in communication, leadership, critical thinking, and teamwork - due largely to their campus engagement (two-thirds are athletes and many of the rest are involved in music and the arts or student government) and the experience many have had serving full-time 18-24-month missions around the world.

We charge a small $200 fee to cover expenses and help us better serve our students. A small number of organizations can reserve a double booth for an additional fee, and there is also a $50 reduced fee for small businesses under 50 employees, nonprofit companies, and government agencies.

CAREER FAIR REGISTRATION PROCESS - Fall 2026:

To better align employer hiring needs with the internship and job-seeking interests of our cadets, we are continuing with the registration process introduced with the Spring 2026 Career Fair. We are accepting interested employers through an open registration and subsequent selection process. Registration is NOT first-come, first-served.

    Open Registration Details

Open Monday, April 13th at 8am through Friday, May 1st at 12pm.

Employers will be notified on Monday, May 4th regarding selection. Those not selected will have the option to join the waitlist and/or select a Workforce Wednesday for the fall (prior to opening the series to all other employers).

Career Fair Capacity: 53 employer booths

Notice: Submitting a registration does not guarantee a space at the career fair. Employers will be contacted on May 4 regarding selection status.

For employers not selected from open registration: Those not selected for the spring career fair will be invited to participate in one of our Workforce Wednesday ($100) events in the dining hall, or Nichols Engineering (for engineering only). These will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis until all are filled. If we are unable to accommodate your organization at the fair, we will work with you directly to identify other ways to share your opportunities with VMI cadets.

We are additionally accepting sponsor applications for our cadet lunch at the career fair. The spring cadet lunch was sponsored by Gilbane, Munters Corporation, & Crowder Construction and likely contributed to a record number of cadets at the spring career fair (200+). If your company is interested in learning more about sponsorship, register for the career fair (select the sponsorship option) and then email MAJ Slone for the Google Form to submit additional details.
